Prep
-Thoroughly exfoliate from head to toe with a mitt at least one day prior to appointment, making sure there is no residual self tanner or spray tan left.
-Schedule all regular hair removal, mani/pedi, massage and spa services at least one day before. Doing so after can cause tan to fade prematurely.
-Come free of lotion, SPF, deodorant, makeup & oils
-If you’ll be spending time in the sun on the days prior to your appointment, be sure to use SPF. Please notify us if you’ve had sunburn or peeling recently as it can affect the results of your tan.
-Leave at least a 4-5 hour window between your last shower and your appointment
What to Wear
Adam Sandler is your muse. We recommend bringing a dark and loose outfit preferably covering most of your skin. Think sweats, a baggy tee, and sandals. Leave the bra and sneakers at home!
We’re here to create a safe space for you to get your glow on. You’re welcome to tan in anything from a bikini to your birthday suit! Disposable hairnets, thongs, and hair ties are provided for your use.
Development
-Avoid moisture, getting sweaty, or wet
-Avoid skin to skin contact. Refrain from touching your skin or others until you’ve rinsed
-If you’re sleeping in your tan, wear sweatpants and a long sleeve as to avoid skin to skin contact
First Rinse
-Hop in the shower making it quick (1-2 mins max) not too hot and free of soaps + hair products
-“Squeegee” your body with your hands only. The cosmetic bronzer will wash away and as soon as the water runs clear you’re done
-Pat dry and start moisturizing with a spray tan safe moisturizer
-For a longer lasting tan, skip soaps and shampoo for the first 24 hours as the solution is still developing
Rapid Tans
The life of a rapid tan is a bit different but trust the process! At first it will be a little too dark, after your rinse it will be a little too light and after 12-24 hours it will be fully developed and just right
Aftercare
-Use a spray tan safe moisturizer 1-2 times daily. We recommend anything gentle, free of mineral oil, heavy fragrance and exfoliating properties. Hempz, Cerave, and Native are a great options
-Avoid Dove, Victoria Secret and Bath & Body Works products before and during your tan
-Excessive sweating will cause tan to fade. Skip the sauna and hot yoga until your tan is gone
-Switch to low support sports bras. Less surface area + less friction = longer tan
-Soaking in pools & hot tubs will fade tan prematurely
-Use a lotion SPF instead of aerosol as it is high in alcohol and very drying
-When you’re ready to say goodbye to your tan simply exfoliate it off with an exfoliating mitt and book your next tan!
